ROBINSON, J.W. - With a large number of Bentonville and Rogers friends attending, Masonic funeral honors were paid here Friday afternoon at the mausoleum at the Bentonville cemetery to J.W. Robinson, aged 72, widely known retired lumberman and former resident of Bentonville who died at his home in Rogers, Ark. on Thursday morning, July 6th, 1933 as the result of a stroke of paralysis suffered at his Rogers home on April 11th. Interment was in the Bentonville mausoleum. At 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon funeral services for Mr. Robinson had been held at the Presbyterian Church at Rogers, conducted by the pastor, Dr. Joseph Miller. Mr. Robinson, who moved his family from here to Rogers about 20 years ago, had come from Little Rock to Bentonville and founded the Benton County Lumber Company here in 1902. When he sold that business 11 years later he moved to Rogers and established the J.W. Robinson Lumber Company which he operated until retiring from active business some years ago. The late Tom W. McKown and family moved here from Little Rock at the same time the Robinsons came here and Mr. McKown was associated with Mr. Robinson in the mill and cabinet work department of the Benton County Lumber Company. One of Mr. Robinson's daughters, Mrs. Gene Hamilton, and Mr. Hamilton and their daughter, Dorothy, lived here for a number of years after the Robinsons moved to Rogers and Mr. Robinson and other members of his family have always had a great number of Bentonville friends. Mr. Robinson had been active in the Masonic Order and while living here served the Bentonville Masonic Lodge in every station, including that of Worshipful Master. Besides his wife Mr. Robinson is survived by two sons and four daughters, Dallas Robinson of Seattle, Wash.; Cecil Robinson of Rogers; Mrs. Eugene Hamilton of Rogers; Mrs. Dan Cowling and Mrs. Paul Griffin, both of Little Rock; and Mrs. Dawn Coleman of Memphis, Tenn. The grandchildren include Miss Dorothy Hamilton, formerly of Bentonville.
