Morell "Spud" Pavy, 84, of Dyer, AR, died Friday, April 15, 2011 in a local nursing home. He was born December 1, 1926 in New Madrid County, MO to Luther and Irene Pavy. He was a retired machine operator for Mead Container after 27 years, a member of the Dyer Baptist Church, and served in the US Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Battles and husband Bill of Alma, Evie Goff and husband Gary of Dyer, and Dot McAdoo of Alma; four sons, Harvey Coram of Alma, Phillip Stephens and wife Pat of Alma, Alan Pavy of Dyer, and Jerry Don McAdoo and wife Debbie of Alma; four sisters, Inez Luther of San Diego, CA, Delores Malanas of Tucson, AZ, Jean Kuisel of San Diego, CA, and Donna Gordon of Poplar Bluff, MO; two brothers, Jerry Pavy of Malden, MO and Thirl Pavy of Millington, TN; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Justin Pavy, Dathan Goff, Andrew Peevy, Bryan McAdoo, Lance Robins, Jake Greenwood, Adam Bryant, Mike Payne, Chad Peevy, and Darby McAlister. Honorary pallbearers will be J R Joyce, Sam House, James Morse, Bill Leggitt, Bart Hutchinson, and Paul C Cooper.
