Silas L. "Si" Davis, local resident of Tulsa, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, in Tulsa, the age of 91 years. He was born Oct. 24, 1914, at Dyer to Leonard and Lizzy Mae (Harris) Davis. He was a veteran of the armed forces, having served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Admiralty Islands during World War II. He married Nov. 11, 1933, at Dyer to Virgie Pearl Thomas. He spent most of his working life as a construction contractor. He was a faithful member of the Assembly of God in Owasso and was also a member of the Carpenters Hall No. 943. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including fishing and traveling, but he especially had a great love for his family.

Loving family members include: Daughter, Loreta McDuffie of Owasso, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law, Delmar Lee and Sue Davis of Owasso, Okla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Delmar Lee Davis of Van Buren, Clyde Davis and his wife, Nurene of Winnebago, Ill., and Layton Davis and his wife, Bonnie of Van Buren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virgie; and three brothers, Dudgeon Davis, Loyed Davis and John Davis.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. today at the First Assembly of God in Owasso with the Rev. Royce Peterson officiating.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. today at the Dyer Cemetery in Dyer.
