Mrs. Norma Lea Sparkman, age 74, of Wilburn, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Born in Floral, Arkansas on February 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Sample) Martin.
Mrs. Sparkman was a homemaker and a loving mother, wife and sister. She enjoyed playing guitar, singing and working with her flowers. Mrs. Sparkman was also a member of the Sugarloaf Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sparkman was preceded in death by her husband, George Sparkman, her parents, two brothers, Norman (Sonny) Martin and Dwain Martin, and a great granddaughter Payton Sparkman.
She is survived by her son, Steve Sparkman and wife Donna, her grandchildren, Stephanie West and husband, Travis, Samantha Shock and husband Matthew and Jon Ryder, two great grandchildren, Abigail Grace West and Graham Joseph West, her sisters, Earlene Johnson, Louise Toy and Carolyn Johnson and her half brother, Gary Martin. Mrs. Sparkman is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Olmstead Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Randy Altom officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Sparkman, Randy Altom, Bobby Crider, Jack Marston, Brian Johnson and Jackie Altom.
