"Fred enlisted in the Army Air Corps December 7 1939. Member of the 19th Bombardment Group of 'Queens Die Proudly' fame. Flew 101 missions over the South Pacific, Mediterranean and European theaters in a B-17. One of Arkansas's most decorated service men, Fred holds the third highest record for missions in the Army Air Corps. He flew in the first combat mission in this war and was in the first Berlin raid."
