Issac Leeranzey "Jake" Rackley, age 74, of Ida, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Ida on September 2, 1933, he was the son of the late Arley Leeranzy and Ella Blanche (Sartain) Rackley.
On June 3, 1954, he was married to Doris Irell Philmalee, and they had been married thirty-one years at the time of her death on May 9, 1986. Jake was a retired chicken farmer, cattle farmer, and logger. A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, Ida was home to Jake, and he never wanted to be far from it. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Union Church.
Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; his brothers, Lee, Ollie, Herbert, and Clarence; and his sisters, Helena and Cora Elizabeth.
He is survived by one daughter, Jeanie Johnson and her husband, Larry, of Ida; one son, Issac Lee Rackley and his wife, Sara, of Ida; three grandchildren, Brandy Gallegly and her husband, Sutton, and Brandi Jean Rackley, both of Ida, and Renee` Rackley of Heber Springs; four great grandchildren, Morgan and Colton Gallegly and Jeremiah and Jordan Sumler; and two sisters, Mary Watters of Little Rock Lola Bolear of Greenbrier. Mr. Rackley is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 29, 2008, at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Ridge Union Church with Pastor Odell Altom officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. His nephews Gerald Rackley, Jerry Rackley, Leon Rackley, Hubert Rackley, Eugene Rooney, and Curtis Watters will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Nolen Cannon, Norman Cannon, and Noel Stanford. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
