Shirlene Carlton, age 54, of Prim, departed this world on February 7, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Shirlene was born in Prim, Arkansas, February 26, 1955, the third of seven children, to Pat and Azelee (Wilson) Carlton. Being raised in a large family, Shirlene was taught the value of hard work and the gift of giving. Those values she practiced throughout her life. Even in her declining health, her attitude of hard work and concern for others stayed strong.

Shirlene is preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie DuBois and Laura Carlton. In addition to her parents, Shirlene is survived by the love of her life William Stubbs, his children and grandchildren; sisters, Connie Ring and Linda (Pete) Stewart of Prim, Sue (Bill) Armstrong of Concord; brother, Calvin (Nancy) Carlton of Prim; ten nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by other relatives and many, many friends.

Though Shirlene’s life here was brief, her impact on those around her will remain forever. She was a fantastic soulmate, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, g-mom, and friend.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2010 beginning at 5:00 pm at the Hilltop Holiness Church. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Hilltop Holiness Church with Bro. Dennis Knapp officiating. Interment will follow in the Everett Cemetery.
