Hollis M Gates, Jr, 81, of Plant passed away at his home on Monday May 12th,2008. Hollis, known as "Junior" to friends and family, was born March 27th, 1927,to the late Hollis A and Martha Bowlin Gates of Swain, Arkansas.

They moved to the Plant Community when Junior was 4 years old and he made that community his home for the remainder of his life.Junior was a member of the Church of Christ faith. He served in the United States Army and is a Veteran of World War II. He married Geneva Keeling Gates January 9, 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva, and one son, Lee (wife, Teresa). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jason Gates (wife Tawny), April Goodnight(husband Aaron) Abigail Gates and three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Pearl Jenkins, also of the Plant Community, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Junior is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, three brothers, Dewey,Winfred, and Edward Gates, and his sister, Ruby Skolnick.

Services will be 10am Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton with Lannie Younger officiating. Interment will be in the Plant Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Gates, Ralph Galvan, Herby Prout and Roy Isaac Keeling.
