Alfred Gillem France 77, of Clinton passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 surrounded by his daughters he loved so much. He was born on December 30, 1931 in Stonewall, OK. to John and Ora Catherine Gill France. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy and fought in the Korean War. Upon returning home from the war, he moved to Tulsa, OK where he met the love of his life, Judy Elliott, whom he married on July 6, 1958. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dana Coy and two grandsons.
He is survived by his seven daughters Dixie Holley and Kathy Bramlett of Clinton; Mary Wooten, Amy Davidson and Callie Davidson of Shirley; Karen Banks and Becky Dale of Tulsa, OK., four sisters Lavern Powell of Maryland, Jo Waldroup, Paris O’Conner and Maudie Lee Wilson of Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the Botkinburg Four Square Church with Brother Kirk Hardy officiating. Interment will be in the Plant Cemetery in Clinton along with honors by the U.S Navy Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation is 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Roller McNutt Chapel Clinton, AR.
