Mr. Johnnie E. Hawkins, 92, of Livonia, LA, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in New Roads, LA. Mr. Hawkins was a native of Morehouse Parish, Louisiana; a resident of Livonia for the past 12 years and a former resident of Hamburg and Bastrop, Louisiana. He was a retired pulp wood contractor.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Mae Tubbs Hawkins in 2006; his parents, Albert and Emma Gulledge Hawkins and four sisters, Mildred, Dorothy, Louise, and Lilla Mae.
He is survived by a son, Ricky Hawkins of Hamburg; a daughter, Peggy Pinsonat and husband, John, of Livonia, LA; a brother, Ernest Hawkins and wife, Pat, of Bastrop, LA, three grandchildren, three great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008 in the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Pallbearers are Paul Pinsonat, Terrell Hawkins, Charlie Maxwell, John Herbert McLeod, Steve Rand and Johnny William Pierce. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin Wallace, Jimmy Wilcoxon, Brad Joffrion, Leon Royals and Dr. Harold Clausen.
