Ella Cotton Reed, 88, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in Dardanelle Nursing Home.


A native of Moffett, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Willie Cotton Sr. and Lillie Patterson Cotton, widow of William David Reed Sr., and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.


She is survived by one daughter, Lilene Perry of Clarksville; one son and daughter-in-law, William David and Eula Reed of Dardanelle; two adopted sons, Carl Lee Cotton of Clarksville and Charles Cotton of Fort Smith; two sisters, Lois Wrye and Shirley Alston, both of Clarksville; two brothers, C. H. Cotton of Fort Smith and Leroy Cotton of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Glenn Reed of Little Rock, David Reed of Russellville, and Thomas Perry and Sarah May, both of Clarksville; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Wells officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.


Active pallbearers were Glenn Reed, David Reed, Thomas Perry, Tyrone Perry, William Cotton, and William Brockman.


Honorary pallbearers were Joe Willie Perry, K. P. Heidleberg, Clarence May, Sam Scott, Claude May, Patrick Baker, and Allen Ray Chenault.
