"It first struck at Becker Mountain, fourteen miles southeast of here----(And) swept a path a quarter mile wide across hills and valleys to the southwest corner of Heber Springs. There it dipped into the valley that runs through the town, sweeping all before it. It whirled up the steep hill on the other side and over its top-----From Heber Springs it roared on to a neighborhood near Banner, fifteen miles northeast."
The tornado northeast of Banner struck the Reed home in the late afternoon, killing Albert Reed and three of his sons and injuring his wife and two other sons. The storm continued north into the Almond Community, causing widespread damage and some injuries there.
Those killed in the tornado northeast of Banner were William Albert Reed, born July 24, 1874; Clarence C. Reed, born March 9, 1897; Lawrence Reed, born January 20, 1901, and Theodore R. Reed, born July 25, 1903.
