Max the son of George Washington Terrell and Maude (Harris) Terrell. Mars Jean (Poteet) Cameron Terrell the daughter of Onie Lee Poteet and Audrey Elizabeth (Sellers) Poteet.


Max Lelon Terrell

"Captain" Max Lelon Terrell, 81, of Annieville, died July 27, 2013, at his home.

Born April 4, 1932, in Aberdeen, he was the son of George Washington and Maude Harris Terrell. He was a tugboat captain for 65 years and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mars Jean Poteet Terrell; a daughter, Sheila Garner; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son, Michael Cameron and wife Betsy, Imboden; a daughter, Elizabeth Foulkes, Cherokee Village; a brother, Steve Terrell, San Antonio; two sisters, Vicky Roberts, Roe, and Sue Eastham, Houston; seven grandchildren, Brandy Luker, Jason Cameron, Jeff Cameron, Brenton Eason, Ryan Garner, Tyler Garner and Kaitlin Foulkes; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Annieville with Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home.

IMBODEN -- Funeral services for Mars Jean Terrell, 74, of Imboden, who died Tuesday, Nov. 2, at her residence, have been scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Imboden Church of Christ, with Gerald Bolin officiating.

Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service of Walnut Ridge.

Born at Imboden, she had worked as a cook on a riverboat and was a lifelong member of Imboden Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Max Terrell of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Cameron Foulks of Cherokee Village; a son, Michael Cameron of Imboden; a brother, Everett Dean Poteet of Imboden; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Cameron Garner; her parents, Onie Lee and Audrey Elizabeth Sellers Poteet, and one brother.
