James J. (Jim) Neil, 85, 501 Honeysuckle Lane, Lowell, died July 26 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born April 1, 1892, at Lowell, he was the son of William S. and Alva Boyd Neil, a member of First Baptist Church in Springdale, a pioneer fruit and poultry farmer and a member of the Springdale Rotary Club. He was an Army veteran of World War I and served more than 20 years on the Lowell City Council.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Phillips Neil of the home to whom he was married Sept. 17, 1919; one son, Robert (Bob) Neil, Springdale; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gusler, Rogers; and one grandson, Chris Neil, Springdale.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sisco Chapel with the Rev. Burton A. Miley officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Sisco.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Kendrick, Dick Kendrick, Lindell Neil, Dale Reed, Roy Smart and Elza Tucker.
