William D Jones, son of the late Luther Jones and Nada Downs Jones, was born April 19, 1927 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life July 18, 2012 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 29 days. He was united in marriage to Jane Smith on May 28, 1948 in Batesville, Arkansas. He served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Atlanta. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, provider and friend. During his working years, he was an insurance salesman. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Jordan, Arkansas. He was a proud member of the Rodney-Jordan Volunteer Fire Department and was a past member of the Calico Rock VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Jane Jones of the home and one sister and brother-in-law: Mary Lynn and Bill Hale of Jordan; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Robert Lee Jones and James Jones; and two sisters: Ruth Vest and Frances Rennard.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 21 at 2:00 pm at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Byron Cothran officiating. Burial will be at Hand Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will began at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 21.
Memorials may be made to: Rodney-Jordan Volunteer Fire Department, P O Box 129, Pineville, AR 72566.
Pallbearers will be the Members of the Rodney-Jordan Volunteer Fire Department.

Jane Smith Jones of Jordan, Arkansas

Jane Smith Jones, daughter of the late Everett Smith and Ada Puckett Smith, was born May 28, 1930 in Cash, Arkansas. She departed this life June 5, 2016 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 86 years and 8 days. She was united in marriage to William Jones May 28, 1948. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the United States Geological Survey. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Jordan Baptist Church.
She is survived by one niece: Robin Frazier and her husband Wayne of Greenville, Texas; one sister-in-law: Mary Lynn Hale and husband Bill of Jordan and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters: Rita Mount and Zelda Killian and one brother: Everett Smith.
Funeral service will be Friday, June 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Hand Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will be Friday, June 10 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
