James R. Hamil, age 63, of Warren, died Tuesday, January 26, at his home. He was born June 4, 1935, in Cleveland County, a son of the late Russell Hamil and Lola Johnson Hamil. He was a shipping department employee for Potlatch Corp. and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Sarah M. Chancellor Hamil whom he married on February 28, 1953; two sons, James Stanley Hamil and Charles G. "Gary" Hamil, both of Warren; and one sister, Mary Ann Hamil Wilson of Orlando, Florida.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 28, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. at Frazer's Funeral Home with Rev. John Kidwell officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
