Ray Curtis, age 73, of Russellville, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Lewis T. and Mary E. Romines Curtis, he was born February 17, 1936 at Hector. He was an inspector for Firestone Tire and Rubber for over thirty-three years, was a member of the United Steel Workers Union and was a loving husband and a good father.

Survivors include his wife, Fern M. Curtis; a son, Danny Curtis of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ken Peoples of Russellville; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold Wayne and Patsy Curtis of Pottsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Floyd Brown of Stuttgart; four grandchildren: Tonya Curtis and her husband, Wes, Tina Curtis, Daniel Curtis and Kevin Peoples, all of Russellville; and three great-grandchildren: Trent Curtis, Trey Curtis and Trevor Lyles.

A graveside service will be conducted by Shinn Funeral Service at 10 A.M. on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Rest Haven Memorial Park. The Rev. Arlin Elmore will officiate.

Active pallbearers will include Wes Curtis, Jimmy Zinnell, Tommy Turner and William Pendergraft. Honorary pallbearer will be Daniel Curtis.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 5 to 6:30 P.M., at the funeral home.
