Frank Louis Bishop, 85, of Higden, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday December 27, 2011. Born at Fort Scott, Kansas, on August 17, 1926, he was the eldest son of the late Gerald Moin Bishop and Laverne Miner Bishop. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After working for American Tobacco Company for 16 years, he became postmaster at Higden, Arkansas. Together with his wife, they were proprietors of Frank’s store in Higden for many years. He was a 32nd degree mason as well as a Shriner and a former Boy Scout troop master. He also was a former Constable in Higden, Arkansas. He was an avid fisherman for many years. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Lauretta Tribell Bishop as well as his brother Gerald Russel Bishop and his parents. He is survived by brother-in-law Ronald Tribell of Quitman, Arkansas, sisters-in-law June Tribell Tarkington of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Maxine Bishop Willmuth of Maumelle, Arkansas, nephews James “Butch” Bishop, Larry Tarkington, Wyatt Tribell, Todd Tribell, Kelly Tribell and J.P. Tribell, and nieces Andrea Sandage and Georgia Ward, seven grandnephews, and seven grandnieces, and one great grandnephew and four great grandnieces. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Higden-McLehaney Cemetery in Higden, Arkansas with Pastor J.R. Manes officiating. The pallbearers will be Charlie Brown, Ralph Sandage, Earl Tarkington, J.D. Todd, J.P. Tribell, and Roger Wright.
