James A. "Junior" North , 84, Warrensburg, MO (formerly of Kansas City), passed away July 27, 2004. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 29, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N. Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Minnow Creek Cemetery in Lamar, AR, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to The Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, 1300 Veterans Rd., Warrensburg, MO 64093. James was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Lamar, AR, to James Alfred, Sr., and Dilla Pearl (Pearson) North . James was an avid gardener, hunter and woodcarver. He was in the Coast Guard, serving in World War II. He was an instructor for the Builders & Association Trade and former President of Local 518 cement finishers. He was also a member of the Lions Club in Claycomo, a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 360 and a member of the Masons. He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Ruth Mae (Taylor) North . He is survived by his wife, Vera (Collier) North ; son, Wesley and wife, Linda; son, Toni A. and wife, Karen; daughter, Rita North ; grandchildren, Sharon North and Kay Miller; and greatgrandchildren, Cameron and Shelby; and a sister, Doris Brotherton.
