Myrtle Christine Mabry Pegg of McCrory died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at White County Hospital. She was 86 years of age.
Services will be Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church on Hwy 64 in McCrory with Brother Billy Pearson officiating.
Interment will be in Fakes Chapel Cemetery. Heber Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pegg was born March 5, 1924 to Andrew and Virginia Mabry in Beedeville. She was married to Loral L. Pegg who preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2001.She was a loving mother and grandmother and her great joy was her family and friends. She was a people person and loved caring and doing for others. One could say that her family was “extended” as many that knew her lovingly referred to her as “Nenny.” She was also a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. She was a retired postal employee having worked in the McCrory post office for 24 years. After retirement from the post office, she worked at the John Davis Retirement Center until 2006.
Survivors are her two daughters, Kitty Hopkins and husband Sonny and Sue Pegg, both of McCrory; five grandchildren, Rhonda Bull Hall, Lee Ann Hopkins Wampler, Cori Tiner Tubbs, Cyle Tiner, all of McCrory, and Beth Hopkins McBroome of Heber Springs; ten great-grandchildren, Caton Hall, Lauren Wampler, Laine Wampler, Bailey Tubbs, Cailey Hall, Mabry Tiner, Gavin Tubbs, Braiden Tubbs, all of McCrory, Abbi McBroome and John McBroome of Heber Springs; and two great-great-grandchildren, Colby Starkey and Tinsley Hall of McCrory.
Pallbearers are Mickey Pegg, Billy Pegg, Charles Kissenger, Mike Hammonds, Ben Alumbaugh and Terry Pegg. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Hammonds, Ed Barry Wood, Bob Coley, Vester Pankey, John Watwood, Mike Burkett and Aaron Chappell.
The family requests that memorials be made to Faith Baptist Church, 62 Woodruff 409, McCrory, Ark., 72101.
