Leonard S “Bud” Morgan, 93 of McCrory went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He was born Tuesday, February 10, 1920 in McCrory to the late Oscar and Lura Bishop Morgan. Mr. Morgan honorably served his country in the United States Army. During World War II, he was assigned to Company E 106th Infantry in the Pacific Theatre earning the Bronze Star among other ribbons. After the war Leonard came back to McCrory and drove a fuel truck throughout Woodruff County and the surrounding area serving the needs of farmers who depended upon him to supply their fuel for farming.

Mr. Morgan was married to Lola Lee Morgan for more than twenty years and they raised a daughter, Sheila “Sissy” Morgan Holder and a son, Sherman Lee Morgan. Mr. Morgan was of the Baptist faith and well known to be a lover of the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees back in the days of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. In addition to his busy schedule, Mr. Morgan raised hogs for awhile, went quail and duck hunting whenever he could, and always made time to talk to people.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Sherman Morgan and Lura Bessie Bishop Morgan; his wife, Lola Lee Morgan and a son, Sherman Lee Morgan; six brothers, Bill Morgan, George Morgan, Ken Morgan, Junior Morgan, Gene Morgan, Jake Morgan; two sisters, Ted Wilkins and Mamie Massey.

He is survived by a daughter, Sheila “Sissy” Morgan, two brothers, Dean Morgan and Doyle Lynn; two grandsons, Sam and Mika; three granddaughters, Heather, Mandy and Christa; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Fakes Chapel Cemetery north of McCrory on Hwy 17.
