Mr. Bill McDonald, 70, of Augusta died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at Searcy. He was born March 1, 1941 at McCrory, the son of Trig and Susie (Broadwater) McDonald. He married Miss Linda Norviel on July 23, 1960. Mr. McDonald was owner of McCrory Hardware and Sporting Goods, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta where he was active in Sunday School activities. He was a 1959 graduate of McCrory High School, and worked at the Sunshine School at Augusta. Mr. McDonald loved to fish, hunt, camp, mow his yard, and raise a big garden, most of which he gave to his neighbors. He was a certified gunsmith and locksmith, and had taught one year at Vo-Tech Schools. Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Dale and Walter McDonald; and two sisters, Brenda Montgomery and Avis Wooldridge. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda McDonald of the home; two sons, Scott McDonald and Kristie of McCrory and Brent McDonald of Augusta; one daughter, Cheryl Malik of Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Gary McDonald of McCrory; four sisters, Debbie Redman of Searcy, Mary Sue Reynolds of McCrory, Pam McDonald of McCrory, and Janet Rudick of McCrory; and three grandchildren, Colton McDonald, Kayla McDonald, and Madison Barnett. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Fakes Chapel Cemetery.
