DARBY, Mary Lucette - Mrs. Mary Lucette Darby died on Monday noon, July 20th at her home at 1110 South Fourth street after a serious illness of several months at the age of 52 years and eleven months. Funeral services were held at Central M.E. church Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Wilcoxon. Interment in the Rogers cemetery. Mrs. Darby was born at Summerville, Shelby county, Tenn. and she was married there to Will Darby in December 1897. To them were born three children, Mrs. Lloyd Patterson and Will and Dillard Darby, all of Rogers. Mr. Darby died December 14, 1912 at Booneville, Ark. and the family came to Rogers from Memphis some ten years ago. Mrs. Darby had visited in Rogers shortly after her marriage with her husband's mother, Mrs. H.H. Darby, and had liked this town so when she was looking for a location in which to raise her young family she decided to come here. She was a woman greatly beloved by her friends and acquaintances and her death is a great loss, not only to her immediate family but to the entire community. Mrs. Darby is survived by a sister in Memphis and by a sister-in-law, Mrs. E.R. Dickinson, of Blytheville, Ark. who arrived Monday noon just a few minutes after Mrs. Darby's death and she is still here with the sons and daughter.
