Hiram Segall Boger was born 20 January 1927 in Lexington, Alabama, the son of David H. and Madge Green Boger. He grew up with brothers and sisters: T.R, David, Harry, Iva Dee, Jimmie, Francie and Ajdrain. He attended school in Trumann, Arkansas and worked in a shipyard in Califomia prior to joining the military .
Segall was inducted into the Navy 6 October 1943 and took his boot training at Great Lakes, Illinois. He was assigned to the USS Manila Bay Aircraft Carrier in the South Pacific. He participated in major battles in that area. His ship was badly hit and was sent to Massachusetts for repairs. He was discharged in May 1946 at Little Rock., Arkansas.
Segall returned to Arkansas for a while and then moved to Canton, Massachusetts. He married Pauline Lanza 7 June 1947 and they were the parents of four sons: David, Kevin, Michael and Brian.
Hiram Segall Boger died 1 September 1971 and was buried in Cogbill Cemetery.
