MELBOURNE — Patsy June Evans Byler, 72, of Melbourne died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at her home.
Born June 8, 1937, in Granite, Okla., she was the daughter of Alfonzo and Jewel Evans. She was united in marriage to Jimmy Dale Byler on Oct. 10, 1953, in Oregon. She was a homemaker, had picked fruit in Washington, worked at Mar-Bax Shirt Company in Salem and raised poultry and rabbits. She was of the Church of Christ faith and was a member of Millcrest Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Dale Byler of Melbourne; three daughters, Barbara Wilson of Calico Rock, Connie Byler of Melbourne and Sheila Tate of Evening Shade; a brother, Jesse Evans of Yakima, Wash.; a sister, Opal Hendershot of Sunnyside, Wash.; five grandchildren, Shonté Warhurst, Sasha Wheeler, Courtney Wilson, Heather Tate and Jasmine Tate; and four great-grandchildren, Kennedy Grant, Maesin Grant, Allexus Scott and Slayton Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Billy Evans and Olan Evans.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Millcrest Church of Christ with Dale Manor and Gerald Coleman officiating. Burial was in Knob Creek Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Gerald Coleman, Bob Martin, Loye Dale McCollum, Frank Fowler, Mark Herrington and Jack Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were Haskell Morehead and R.J. Blankenship.
