Gertrude L. Rabeneck, 84, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011. She was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Ulm, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sophie and Chris Schroeder; two brothers, Ervin and Floyd Schroeder; and her husband of 61 years, Glenn Rabeneck. Mrs. Rabeneck is survived by two sons, James Rabeneck (Lindy) and David Rabeneck (Debbie) of Stuttgart; two daughters, Betty Reece (Terry) of North Little Rock and Alice Crawley (Keenan) of El Dorado; eight grandchildren, Brandon Rabeneck, Jenny Wallace, Jeff Grimmett, Ryan Rabeneck, Sally Anderson, Brett Rabeneck, Amy Crawley and Kristen Crawley; two great-grandchildren, Haedon Rabeneck and Eliza Grimmett; and numerous step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Arkansas Children's Hospital. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of England Manor Nursing Home for their outstanding care for the last year and to Hospice Home Care for their kindness and care giving in her final days.
