PINEVILLE, Mo. — Kenneth C. McCool, 81, of Pineville died Oct. 7, 2006, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center of Little Rock. He was born in McDonald County, Mo., on July 26, 1925, to Clinton Riley and Elva Laura Ellen Wardlaw McCool.

During World War II he served in the Army as a prison guard at the Sugamo prison in Tokyo. He married Anna M. Lewis in 1949. He lived most of his life in McDonald County and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He worked for the Pineville school for many years as a janitor and was a member of the Whittenburg Church near Powell, Mo.

Survivors include his wife Anna of the home; one daughter, June Hilton and husband Verlys of the Longview area; one son, Trenton McCool of Pineville; two granddaughters, Kiera and Chayleigh McCool, both of Pineville.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo., with the Rev. Jamey Cope and the Rev. Bill Oxner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Wardlaw Cemetery in Avoca.

Pallbearers will be Rex McCool, James Lewis, Tom Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Mike McCool and Mike Kelly.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Creason, Dave Attlesey, Bill Millison, Albert Peay and Scotty Stringer.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Wardlaw Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
