November 9, 1890 - March 24, 1962
Hugh Perkins Coleman, 71 years old, a lifelong resident of Rudy, Arkansas died Saturday morning, March 24, 1962 at his home after a long illness. He was the son of the late Tom and Melvie Lamb Coleman, and was a retired farmer.
He and his wife, the former Susie McCurdy, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 1, 1961.
In addition to the widow, other survivors are three daughters, Alma and Bernice of Fort Smith and Wilma of Van Buren; two brothers, Charlie and Walter of Rudy; three sisters, Lizzie and Amy of Van Buren and Ellen of Benton; two grandchildren, Hugh of Fort Smith and Carl of Van Buren.
The funeral service was held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Hobbtown church, with Jewell Morrison, Baptist minister, and Roy Pearson, pastor of Hobbtown church, officiating. Burial was in the Morrison cemetery.
Six nephews served as casket bearers. They were, Fred, Talcum L. Thell, Gene, Walter and Forrest.
