Juanita Harrison Stowers, daughter of the late Albert Richard Harrison and Lizzie Carter Harrison, was born June 2, 1942 in Searcy, Arkansas. She departed this life March 8, 2013 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was united in marriage to Glen Stowers on July 2, 1976 in Kansas City, Missouri. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she worked as an accounting clerk. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Calico Rock VFW. Her passion for genealogy, prompted her to join the Izard County Genealogy Society, where she served as editor and publisher.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years: Glen Stowers of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Tim Elumbaugh of Mountain Home; five stepchildren: Ronnie Stowers and wife DeAnn Stowers of Mountain Home, Connie Kenig of Grain Valley, Missouri, Debra Sniff and husband Dennis of Independence, Missouri, Steve Stowers and wife Michelle of Springfield, Missouri and Glenda Harris of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister: Mary Baxter of Lawrence, Kansas; three grandchildren: Emily Harris, Ariel Elumbaugh and Cody Elumbaugh and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: George Harrison and one sister: Ginger Lautenschlager.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Staggs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
