Neva Broughton Crafford, 93, daughter of the late James Edgar and Ozella (Currington) Broughton was born August 10, 1918, in Berry, Ala. She departed this life August 1, 2012 in Baton Rouge, La., 10 days before her 94th birthday. Neva was united in marriage to Ervin Alvin "Pete" Crafford on Oct. 21, 1938, at Cotton Plant, Ark. Their union brought two sons, Donald G. Crafford and Ervin Gail Crafford. Neva and "Pete" Crafford were residents of Cotton Plant, Ark. until 1983 when they relocated to Navarre, Fla. Pete passed away in August of 1988. In 2009, Neva followed her family to Baton Rouge, La.
She was preceded in death by: her parents and husband; four brothers, Joseph E., Robert E., Edward and James T. Broughton; and three sisters, Naomi Willcutt, Nora Francis Carr and Lola Mae Taylor. She is survived by: her two sons, Don Crafford (Sybil) of Conway, Ark., Ervin Gail Crafford (Patricia) of Baton Rouge, La.; her grandchildren, Dana Stobaugh (Don) of Texas, Gerry Crafford (Ardel) of Arkansas, Chris Crafford of Mississippi, Greg Crafford (Lisa) of Arkansas, Darla Crafford of Arkansas, Tricia Crafford of Louisiana, Jennifer Bernard (Lenny) of Louisiana and William Crafford (Vanessa) of Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Samantha St. John (Justin) of Texas, Alex, Andrew and Anthony Crafford of Arkansas, Kobe and Kate Bernard of Louisiana.
Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 5 at the First Baptist Church in Cotton Plant, Ark. Rev. Bill Duncan will be officiating and interment will be in the Cotton Plant.
