John Strong died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Mountain Home. He was 76. John was born on August 24, 1931 to Vernon and Julia Abel Strong. He was a mechanic for Everett Saw Mill and was a US Marine Korean War Era Veteran. John Strong lived in Norfork for 22 years, moving from Hutchinson, Kansas. He was a member of the Galatia Assembly of God Church.

John Strong is survived by 2 sons, Bobby (Sandy) Poe of Cliffwood Beach, N.J., & John Alvin Poe of Kinsley, KS, 1 daughter, Julie Pauline (Don) McKee of Chouteau, OK, 1 stepson, Rex Kirby of Salesville, AR, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and 1 brother Howard Strong of Drumright, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Harry Vinson, 1 brother, Delbert and 1 sister, Doris.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Service. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Galatia Assembly of God in Norfork. Burial will be in the Martin Springs Cemetery in Norfork.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
