BELLA VISTA — Verna Matthew Wedel, 88, of Bella Vista died Aug. 1, 2002, at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born July 4, 1914, in Lincoln to Charlie and Verna McCaleb Roller. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Her husband, Benton Wadel, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie LaPier and husband Kenneth of Bella Vista; two sisters, Mary Smith of Tulsa, Okla.; and Lucille Little of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepgrandchildren, Paul LaPier of Dallas, Texas; and Beth LaPier of Kansas City, Mo.; three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dutch Mills Cemetery Pavilion with Jack Thompson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 72715.
Arrangements are by Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.
