*Obituary
Dorothy Wolf Butcher, the essence of love, lived for 91 years. And lived she did, with a vibrancy and joy that touched people who knew her well and those who knew her only in passing. One of nine children in the family of Frank and Ethel (Ayers) Wolf, she was born July 31, 1920 in Gillette, Arkansas. Dorothy completed high school and was off to experience the world. At a young age Dorothy and Clinton Butcher were married and in time their home filled with the joy of four children. Blessed with a long life, she was privileged to know several generations of grandchildren. To them she leaves a wonderful legacy of godliness, love and strength. With a natural zest for adventure, she loved life and knew how to have fun. To be in her presence always brought laughter and delight, whether she was winning at Bingo, adding sage to dressing or merely resting her eyelids. Dorothy was a member of Cotton Plant First Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was an integral part of the many activities in which she participated and greatly enjoyed the fellowship with her church family. Through the years countless potluck dinners had a bit of her best of show cooking. The family and many friends of the community have been touched by the love she freely gave. In her own way Dorothy will be a testament of the beloved phrase.. "To live in hearts we leave behind is to not die…" Dorothy Wolf Butcher entered into her eternal rest Monday, April 14, 2012 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She will be welcomed by those who preceded her in death; her loving husband, Clinton Butcher, parents, Frank and Ethel Wolf, sons Doyle and Frank Butcher, brothers, Jess and James Wolf, sisters, Hazel Wolf, Telia Chadwick and Ruby Knight.
