Shirley Faye Hodges Looper, 69, of Stuttgart, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, May 3, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Wisner, Louisiana, Shirley lived in Stuttgart for over fifty years, where she served as pastor's wife for forty two years and was principle of the Jesus Name Church of Christ Christian School. She is survived by her children, Pastor of Jesus Name Church of Christ in Stuttgart, Arkansas, Reverend Guy Looper and his wife Lesa, Katherine Wattles and husband Billy of Scott, Arkansas, Claudia Harlin and husband Carl of Stuttgart, pastor of the First Pentecostal Church in Silsbee, Texas, Reverend Homer Looper and his wife Jody; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Lillian Hayes and husband Curt of Meadville, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Reverend Buddy Looper; son John Looper; sister Irene Parker; and her mother and father Ruth and Homer Hodges. A celebration of Shirley's life will be twelve noon on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Jesus Name Church of Christ, 1805 Park Avenue, Stuttgart, Arkansas, with burial to follow at Lone Tree Cemetery also in Stuttgart.
