Eva Mae Lewis, 75, of Hamburg died Friday, December 22, 2006, at Golden Living Center in Crossett. A lifelong resident of Hamburg, she was a retired cafeteria employee of the Hamburg School District and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two step-sons, Aaron Lewis of Milwaukee, WI, and George Lewis of Panama City, FL; four step-daughters, Jeannie Lewis and Glenda McCuen, both of Little Rock, and Gloria Duper and Janice Lewis, both of Milwaukee; and two sisters, Edith Thomas of New York, NY, and Barbara Lewis of Brooklyn, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Lewis Sr.; her parents, Willis and Effie Hixon Jones; one brother, Harold Jones; and four sisters, Clotha Pumphrey, Mary Ann Trice, Marion Reynolds and Peggy Coleman.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 28, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor officiating. Burial was at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were Earl Jacob, Alfred Robinson, R. D. Morgan, Curtis Tolliver, Elijah Miller and Lawrence Booker.
