Harold Jones Sr., 76, of Hamburg died Thursday, February 3, 2005, at University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock. A lifelong resident of Hamburg, he was a retiree of P. E. Barnes Lumber Co. and was a member of Soldiers Chapel A. M. E. Church.

Survivors include three sons, Harold Jones and wife Diane of Little Rock, Donnie Jones and wife Kathy of Rockford, IL, and Billy Jones of Dermott; three daughters, Nellie Morgan and husband Joe of Montgomery, AL, Barbara Jones of Dermott and Marilyn Dunn and husband Floyd of Grovetown, GA; three sisters, Eva Lewis of Hamburg and Edie Thomas and Barbara Harris, both of New York; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clematine Jones; his parents, Willie and Effie Thomas Jones; and three sisters, Peggy Coleman, Marian Reynolds and Mary Ann Trice.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 10, at 1 p.m. at Soldiers Chapel A. M. E. Church with Rev. Gwain Hammock officiating. Burial was at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were Baron Johnson, Undra Reynolds, Charleston Pippen, Mitchell Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Floyd Dunn, Robert Hatchett and Shun Barnes.
