Mary Lillian Tarkington Siems, 89, of Little Rock, formerly of Stuttgart, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at St. Vincent North, Sherwood.
Mrs. Siems was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Tennessee, to Jim and Mabel Warren Tarkington. She was a graduate of Stuttgart High School and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Stuttgart.
She was known as Benny to her friends and Mama Dean by her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leslie Epperson Eanes; two brothers, Ed (Ruth) Tarkington and Wilson (Elizabeth) Tarkington; and a sister, Lou (John) Scott.
Survivors are her husband of 68 years, Johnny Joe Siems; two sons, Kenny Joe (Linn) Siems of North Little Rock and John Alan Siems of Fayetteville; one daughter, Shirley Ann (Ed) Epperson of North Little Rock; one brother, Louis (Dorothy) Tarkington of Little Rock; one sister, Tennie Vickers of Stuttgart; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery.
