Richard Lee Hatchett, 64, of Hamburg died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A lifelong resident of Hamburg, he was a retired diesel mechanic for Burks, Inc., and a member of the Shaw Hunting Club and the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Arneacie "Pie" Hatchett; two sons, Richard, Jr., and wife Lillie Hatchett and Robert Hatchett, both of Arlington, TX; a daughter, Sharon Hatchett of Hamburg; a goddaughter, Ariel Blakely of Hamburg; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; and three special friends J. O. Johnson, E. G. Morgan and Daniel Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Ruth Thomas Hatchett; two brothers, Percy Hatchett, Jr., and Anthony Hatchett; and a sister, Patsy Colbert.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, in the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Daniel Smith, Earl Jacob, Edward Morgan, Orrell Mooney, Marvin Walter and Larry Works. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Shaw Hunting Club.

Burial will follow services at the Johnson Memorial Cemetery with arrangements by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
