Ollie V. Phillips Fowler, 80, of Conway died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at her residence. A native of Lake Village, a resident of Hamburg for 52 years and a resident of Conway for the past two years, she was a homemaker and a member of Living Faith Outreach Ministry in Conway.

She is survived by two sons, James and Jesse Scales of Conway; one daughter, Thomesa Campbell of Atchison, KS, six brothers, R. J. McQuay of Gary, IN, Roosevelt and Oble McQuay of Jackson, MS, Willie McQuay of Vicksburg, MS, Olderns McQuay of Hamburg and Hollis McQuay of North Little Rock; two sisters, Maudine Irving of Gary, IN, and Claudine Tolliver of Hamburg; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Fowler; a son, Fred Scales; her parents, Dee & Gassie Sanders McQuay; two brothers, John and Roy McQuay; and two sisters, Beadie Morgan Barnett and Margie Mason.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, in the Epistles of God Church of Deliverance in Hamburg with Pastor Mary Arnold and Rev. Derrell Webb officiating. Pallbearers were Fredrick Simpson, Kenneth McQuay, Jesse Scales, Michael Gilliam, T. J. Dixon, and Rodney Hartley. Honorary pallbearers were the McQuay brothers. Burial followed at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. See online guest book at www.cromwellfuneralhome.net.
