Kathryn Tanner Davis, 99, of Stuttgart died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Crestpark Retirement Center.
Mrs. Davis was born June 23, 1908, in Alamo, Tenn., to Robert Fleming and Nannie Hall Tanner. She graduated from Alamo High School and attended Austin Peay in Tennessee before becoming a school teacher. She married D.B. Davis Sr., who preceded her in death, in September of 1927.
During World War II she worked in a munitions plant in Tennessee. Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved to Stuttgart in 1943 where she became a founding member of the Amici Club and the Loyal Daughters at First Christian Church where she was also a member. She was also active in the Arkansas Federated Womens' Clubs from the 1950s-1980s.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Delbert Davis Jr.; and a grandson, Delbert Davis III.
Survivors are her son, Cliff T. Davis and wife Paula of Denver, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Pam Davis of Greers Ferry, Ark.; granddaughter, Kay Dean Kaplan of Reston, Va.; great-grandsons, Daniel Davis of Austin, Texas, and Michael Kaplan of Reston; niece, Nan Edward Hicks of Humboldt, Tenn.; and nephew, Paul Snow of Tigard, Ore.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
