David Leon Slocum III, 21, of Lavaca, AR., entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2010 in Polk County, AR.
He was born March 12, 1988 in Fort Worth, TX.
He was of the Baptist faith and employed at Reed Construction as a underground cable layer.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marie Trayler. He is survived by his fiancee Brittany Winberry; daughter Madyson Slocum of Lavaca, AR; mother Latrecia Trayler and fiancee Blake Luce of Fort Smith, AR; father David Slocum Jr of Azle, TX; mother-in-law Patricia Neidecker of Lavaca, AR; two brothers Jason Slocum and fiancee Tasha Ripley of Fort Smith, AR; and Andrew Slocum of Fort Smith, AR; maternal grandparents Travis and Edith Trayler of Van Buren, AR; paternal grandparents Dorothy and Leon Slocum Jr. of Azle, TX; and a neice Journey Slocum.
Funeral service was Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR, with interment at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, AR.
Pallbearers were Jason Slocum, Andrew Slocum, Michael Winberry, Tim Johnson, Billy Woller and Rusty Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were co-workers and Blake Luce and Jimmy Johnson.
