Fire Kills Entire Family
North Beach Park, Maryland
A pre-dawn fire today destroyed a two-story frame home here and killed an entire family of nine, state police reported. The victims included William Bowden, his wife, and their six children, and Bowden’s mother, according to Percy Geriersan of the North Beach Fire Department. All nine bodies were recovered.
The cause of the fire was not immediately determined. State Police from Annapolis theorized it might have stemmed from an open fireplace.
