She had lived most of her life in Wichita, Kansas, until recently moving back to Mountain View to be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim Brown (deceased 1945); husband Mitchell Cothron (deceased 1975), one brother Curtis ("Buster") Decker and his wife Mae Hinkle Decker, and one nephew Benny Decker.

Mrs. Cothron graduated from Mountain View High School where she was Captain of the basketball team. She later moved to Wichita, Kansas where she retired from Safeway. She was an active member of the Botanica Gardens, Good Sam's Club, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the Salvation Army. She had many friends of all ages across the country. She was fondly called "Sally" by all of her Wichita friends. She brought love and laughter to everyone she met. She was the ultimate fun-loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by one niece, Pat Decker Cash and husband, Jim; one niece-n-law Mavis Decker; two grandnephews: Curt Decker and wife, Brenda; and Jim Ed Cash; and three grandnieces: Pam Cash Dobbins and husband, Jake, and children Laramie and Will; Jana Cash Wickham and husband, Brent, and sons D.J., Garrett and Trent; and Abbie Decker Rucker and husband, Ross, and daughters Holland and Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain View Historic Cemetery, the Botanica Gardens in Wichita, Kansas, the Humane Society, or the Salvation Army. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Mountain View Historic Cemetery.
