Son of Jessie Elmo, Sr. and Gladys (Wright) Woods. Myrtle Magalene (Clark) Woods daughter of Acy Clinton Clark and Mazie Magalene (Pilgrim) Clark.
Elmo Woods, Jr., 79, of Swifton, passed from this life Thursday, November, 29, 2018 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born May 30, 1939 in Tuckerman to Jessie Elmo, Sr. and Gladys Wright Woods. He married Myrtle Clark on June 8, 1956 in Newport. Elmo worked as a truck driver during his life.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jessie Elmo, Sr and Gladys Wright Woods; his wife, Myrtle Clark Woods; sister, Faye Waite; and grandson, Justin Hunter Proffitt.

He is survived by his sons, Steve Woods (Marie) and Jesse Woods, both of Powhatan; daughters, Taressia Stinnett of Black Rock and Stacey Segraves (Johnny) of Jonesboro; sisters, Carol Woods Higgins (Bobby) of Swifton, Flossie Woods Hollis of Bald Knob; grandchildren, Shawn Russell (Heith), Jason Stinnett (Lisa), Natosha Ward (Jason) Branden Woods (Jenny), Dustin Proffitt, Alex Proffitt and Stevie Woods Wilson; a special friend, Judy Tompkins and her son, Michael; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grand son; and many nieces, nephews, and family members.
