Obituary for G. W. Young:

G.W. Young Passed away at the age of 77, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. We lost him on April 15, 2005, due to a battle of Leukeima.

He was born April 18, 1927, in Elizabeth, Ark. His parents were Henry Alvin Brigham Young and Laura Ethel Cantrell Young.

He married Bea Foster Feb. 17, 1947, in Elizabeth, Ark. Together they had 3 children Gary, Roger, and Elmo.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was self-employed as a contractor in the business of windows and replacement windows in the Kansas City area for over 40 years. He retired to the Mountain Home area in 1994. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Bea Young; his children – Gary (Mary) Young of Sturkie, Elmo (Shirley) Young of Mission, Kan., and Roger (Mary Lynn) Young of Gladstone, Mo.; five brothers – Cecil Young of Kansas City, Kan., Billy Young of Gepp, Odell Young of Bainbridge, Wash., Don Young of Mountain Home and Bobby Young of Warsaw, Mo.; three sisters – Thelma Mahan and Eunice Martin both of West Plains and Winifred "Sally" Krug of Mountain Home; three grandchildren – Lavinia Ford, Angela Kiesling and Brent Young; and five great-grandchildren – Ashley, Rachel and Nathan Kiesling, Caitlyn and Duncan Ford.

He was preceded in death by two brothers – Elmo and Gaylen Young; three sisters – Beatrice Young, Irene Messino and Arcille Coscia; and his father and mother.

The funeral was April 19 at Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial following in the Elizabeth Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
