QUARLES, Wm. R. - Wm. R. Quarles departed this life on Saturday last. He has been a citizen of this city since his boyhood, a prominent man and identified with its interests. An estimable gentleman, a public spirited citizen, a popular man and esteemed merchant, a warm friend, kind husband and father and brother, his loss will long be felt in our midst. We have all lost a true friend and an intelligent companion. From the strifes, struggles and turmoils of earth he has fled and in a higher, better, more beautiful Land he drinks in the delights of Eternal Peace and Bliss. He was buried with Masonic and Odd Fellow honors, of both which orders he was a distinguished member. A very great multitude paid to his memory the last sad rites mortal claims.
