R.C. Pogue, 72, Fifty Six was born November 9, 1934 in Sylamore, Arkansas to John Rastus and Nina (Pitts) Pogue and entered into rest on April 9, 2007 in Batesville.
He was a lifetime resident of Fifty Six, Arkansas. He was a retired farmer and an employee of the Stone County Sheriff's Department for eight years and a member of the Stone County Quorum Court for twenty-one years, and also served on the Fifty Six School Board several years.
R.C. accepted Christ as his personal savior and went home to Heaven on April 9, 2007 in Batesville, Arkansas.
R.C. was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and son and took great pride on being privileged to serve Stone County in any way he could.
The visitation is 5 – 8 p.m., April 11, 2007 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View (870)269-3462.
The Funeral Service is 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church, Fifty Six, Arkansas with Bro. Robb Arnold and Bro. Darrell Gosser officiating and interment in Levisy Flat Cemetery, Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Leon Shipman, Jack Kendrick, Junior Deatherage, R.C. Alexander, Donald Cartwright and Hugh Ramsey.
Honorary pallbearers are the Stone County Quorum Court, Judge Stacey Avey, Robert Turner, Larry Gammill, Kathy Greenway, Truman Bullard, Curt Decker, Digger Bagby, E.R. James, Stan Morrison, Dr. Terry Sutterfield, J.T. Stevens, Delvin Freeman, Gaylor Thomas and Don Thomas.
