Nina Jane Pogue, 96, Fifty Six entered into rest on October 22, 2007 in Mountain View.
Nina Jane Pogue was born October 11, 1911 in the Ruddle Community, Izard County to Andrew ‘Andy' Johnson and Mattie-Lou Emma (Fitzhugh) Pitts. She was of the missionary Baptist faith, homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, R.L. Pogue; two grandchildren, Alan David Pogue and Stephen Pogue both of Fifty Six; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Brian Pogue of Cherokee Village and Megan Nichole Pogue of Hot Springs and host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, John R. Pogue who she married on December 7, 1933 and who preceded her in death on July 16, 1989. She was also preceded in death by two sons, R.C. Pogue deceased on April 9, 2007 and L.C. Pogue deceased on June 11, 1980; her parents, Andy and Mattie Lou Emma Pitts; her brothers, Clarence E. Pitts, John W. Pitts, Harvey L. Pitts, Collie Pitts and Luther A. Pitts; her sisters, Flora Pitts Stevens Barnhill, Sarah Pitts Wallace, Clarcy Pitts Corter, Lillie Pitts Blankenship, Genevera Pitts Blevins, Pearl Pitts Pogue and Jeffie Alice Pitts.
Visitation is 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View.
Funeral service is 10 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church, Fifty Six, Arkansas with Bro. Robb Arnold officiating. Interment will be in Levisy Flat Cemetery, Mtn. View.
Pallbearers are Ernest Shipman, Don Shipman, Gary Miller, Benny Stevens, J.T. Stevens and Leon Shipman. Honorary pallbearers are John Carlton, Gaylor Thomas, Alvin Pitts, Von Ward, Terry Pogue and Don Thomas.
Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
