Louie Nell Gilliam Johnson, age 72, of Lake Village, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her home. She
was born December 17, 1939, in Lake Village, the daughter of the late Harvey L. Gilliam Sr. and
Mary Beatrice Gore Gilliam. She was in her 4th term as Chicot County Tax Collector and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Allen Vining and L. J. Johnson and by a brother, Joe Lee Gilliam.
Survivors are 3 sons, Freddie Vining of Lake Village, DeMurl Johnson and wife, Pepina, of Lake Village and Ricky Johnson of Dermott; a daughter, Becky Morphis and husband,Wayne, of Eudora; 5 brothers, Billy Gilliam of Monticello, Paul Gilliam of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, Bobby Gilliam of Redfield, Harvey Gilliam Jr. of Lake Village and Cecil Gilliam of Lake Village; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Garrett and Bro. John Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Jennie Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Arkansas Childrens Hospital, #1 Childrens Way,
Little Rock, AR 72202.
