Opal Haskins Knight, age 100, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Seven Springs Nursing Home in Heber Springs. Born at Shiloh on July 14, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Walt and Mindy (McGinnis) Haskins. A longtime resident of Cleburne County, Mrs. Knight was a retired storekeeper. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center and playing dominoes as well as reading poetry and writing poems. Mrs. Knight was a member of the Pine Street Church of Christ in Heber Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Knight, and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knight is survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews and her many friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10:00 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cross Roads Cemetery.
